2022 USATF Annual Meeting, December 1-4 in Orlando; Register to be an Active Athlete Delegate
The 2022 USATF Annual Meeting will take place December 1-4 in Orlando, Florida. There are 34 slots for Active Athletes as voting delegates at the Annual Meeting. To register for the event click here for more information and details.
Active Athlete Delegates elect the Active Athlete Representative on the MTF Executive Committee and have a voice on future Championships sites, changes to the Rules, changes to the Masters Track & Field Operating Procedures, and more. For information about becoming an Active Athlete Delegate, click here and sign up.
Among the items on the agenda are proposed amendments to the MTF Operating Procedures. Those proposals may be seen here.
2023 USATF Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships March 10 – 12, 2023 – Louisville, Kentucky
The 2023 USATF Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place at the Norton Sports and Learning Center in Louisville, Kentucky, March 10-12, 2023. Detailed information, including online entries, are all available here. On-time entries close on Thursday, February 9, 2023, with late entries open until Thursday, February 16, 2023.
WMACi Toruń – March 26 – April 1, 2023
The WMA Indoor Championships will return to Toruń, Poland, site of the 2019 Indoor Championships. The dates are March 26-April 1, 2023. There is detailed information for US athletes about the meet on usatfmasters.org. Included are:

- Team USATF accommodations – there are sizable Team USATF Masters room blocks at two hotels, including the Copernicus (the hotel we used in 2019) at approximately $120/night including breakfast and another at the nearby ibis Budget Hotel and roughly half the cost. Full information, including links to make room requests, is here. The deadline for reservations is coming up soon on November 30, 2022. After that the special rates will not apply and all rooms will need to be booked directly with the hotels or through the meet booking system.
- A revised athletic trainer/massage subscription process, and a revised relay selection process.
- Applications for the WMA Travel Grants for the WMA 2023 Indoor Championships are open here, with a deadline of January 31, 2023 (same as the deadline for meet entries).
- Meet registration is open, however, US athletes must first be 2023 USATF members to register. That is not possible until the 2023 membership year begins on November 1; for those whose membership is on auto-renew, their 2023 membership does not begin until January 1st.

Flo Meiler Named USATF Masters Track & Field Athlete of the Year
Flo Meiler (W88) of Shelbourne, Vermont has been named USATF Masters Track & Field Athlete of the Year in recognition of her accomplishments during the 2022 indoor and outdoor seasons. Meiler, who first entered a track meet in her 60s, won eight events at the indoor championships in New York and ten at the outdoor meet in Lexington. She set five American and World age group records indoors in 2022. She will be recognized during the USATF Annual Meeting in Orlando at the Night of Legends Ceremony on Saturday evening, December 3, 2022.
Masters Exhibition Events at USATF Indoor Championships
This year the Masters Exhibition Events at the USATF Indoor Championships will be the 60m for both men and women. In both cases, the age groups will be 45-54. Once the dates and location of the Championships have been announced, applications will be opened and links provided on usatfmasters.org, social media, and in future Masters Newsletters. The top eight (8) men and top eight (8) women who apply will be selected to participate. Stay tuned for further information.
