Results From July 31st – The Final Day of the 2022 USATF Masters Outdoor Championships

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The final day of the 2022 USATF Masters Outdoor Championships saw one American age group record broken to bring the overall record count to five. In total, over 350 age group champions were crowned over four days of competition.

The Atlanta Track Club won the meet with 977.50 combined points out of 115 teams that scored. So Cal Track Club moved up from third to second on day four to finish with 630 points while Potomac Valley Track Club took third with 579 points. The Atlanta Track Club won both the men’s and women’s team scores. Full results can be found here.

Robert Paulen broke his second American age group record of the meet after running the men’s 85-89 200-meter hurdles with a time of 49.82 seconds. The previous record was 51.89. On Friday, Paulen broke the 80m hurdles American age group record with a time of 19.54.

Three-time Olympian Michelle Rohl continued to tear up the track on the final day of USATF Masters with a 4:56.07 run in the women’s 55-59 1,500m. The American age group record, also set by Rohl, is 4:47.62 from the World Masters Athletics Championships in Finland in early July. Rohl leaves Lexington with four 2022 55-59 U.S. titles in the 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m and 10,000m.

Doreen Coubrie
of Greater Philadelphia Track Club ran an impressive 5:33.06 in the women’s 60-64 1,500m for gold, as did Kenneth Barbee in the men’s 55-59 race winning with 4:36.88.

Toccota Murphy earned her second gold medal of the meet in the 200m, running 26.17 in the 5054 age group after breaking the American record in the 50-54 400m on Friday.

Allan Tissenbaum concluded his individual races in Lexington with a second gold medal, this time in the 60-64 200m with a quick time of 24.87 as the reigning world masters silver medalist in the event for his age group. On Saturday, Tissenbaum won the 100m with a time of 12.08 to continue his dominance in the event after winning the world title in Finland.

Scott Eriksson, the 2022 world masters age group champion in shot put and discus, threw a few feet from the men’s 60-64 discus American record with a mark of 56.55m/185-6.

Gloria Krug concluded another stellar meet with her fifth gold of the meet in the women’s 90-94 shot put (5.24/17-2.25), defending all five of her titles from 2021. She won eight medals at the WMA Champion

ships, six of them being gold.

Potomac Valley Track Club star Tami Graf powered through the women’s 85-89 200m hurdles with a time of 1:45.64 as her ninth of 10 total events she competed in at the meet.

TNT International Racing Club established two more American age group relay records, but this time in the 4x100m and 4x400m with the women’s 75-79 age group. They finished the 4x100m with a time of 1:53.16 and 4x400m in 11:39.23. On Saturday, the same club established a new age group record in the women’s 75-79 4x800m (23:03.18).

The SC Striders Track Club established an American 65-69 age group record in the women’s 4x400m with a time of 6:35.61.

Philadelphia Masters Track Club established a men’s 75-79 American age group record in the 4x400m with a time of 9:10.35.

The Southwest Sprinters Track Club B team ran a blazing men’s 55-59 4x100m time of 47.09, which is about .40 off the American age group record.
