USADA bans masters (Bicycle) track champion for anti-doping rule violation

Here is a good example of someone taking a supplement that contained a banned substance, not on the label. A Cyclist got a reduced suspension because he could prove he took something which did not have the band substance on the label, supplement users beware.

US anti-doping chiefs hand Abers a one-year ban following positive test at last summer’s masters track national championships. “If athletes choose to use supplements despite the known risks, USADA has always recommended that athletes use only dietary supplements that have been certified by a third-party program that tests for substances prohibited in sport. USADA currently recognizes NSF Certified for Sport as the program best suited for athletes to reduce the risk from supplements.” USADA Statement.
