The 2026 USA National Masters Combined Events Championships brings together the nation’s most complete athletes for two days of speed, strength, skill, and endurance. The decathlon and heptathlon remain the ultimate test in track & field — the traditional proving ground of the “world’s greatest athlete.” In Dallas, that title is pursued again, Masters-style.
This year features a special Battle of the Sexes Combined Events Challenge, with elite men and women competing head-to-head using age-graded scoring. Different hurdles. Different implements. Same fire. Same fight.
Every clearance matters. Every throw counts. Every tenth shifts the standings.
Two days. Ten events. One question:
Who stands as the greatest all-around Masters athlete in America?
All eligible members of USATF and eligible members of other WMA Members may compete in these Championships. However, only U.S. citizens may score or win championship medals. A 2026 USATF membership is required for USA affiliated athletes to enter online (please join online if you are not a member). Non-USA affiliated athletes must present evidence that they are members in good standing of their appropriate WMA Masters Member. Letters attesting to their status should be addressed to Robert Thomas, Chair, USATF Masters Track & Field Committee at mtfchair@usatf.org.
Events Contested:

This National Championships is in conjunction with Texas’ greatest athlete competition. Masters’ athletes will get a chance to compete in front of Texas’ greatest high school combined events athletes, professionals as well as their friends and family. It is a great opportunity and exposure for our sport.

Mary was a prolific and talented thrower throughout her career, earning 74 Gold, 30 Silver and 8 bronze at USATF Nationals including 18 US records. With 13 #1 World rankings between 2005-2020, she won at WMA 3 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze across all throwing events. She greeted everyone at meets with a smile and she was less impressed by her own athletic accomplishments but was thrilled for you when speaking of yours. Gracious, big-hearted, she was a friend for life of all she touched. Unfortunately, we lost Mary to Covid in the early 2000’s, but she lives on in all our memories.
