With great sadness, we announce that USATF Masters Track & Field Chair Rex Harvey passed away on Sunday, December 22 at about noon Mountain Standard Time in Prescott, Arizona, where he lived. The cause was a massive heart attack.Rex was a huge presence in the masters’ track and field scene both in the US and internationally. In addition to serving as MTF Chair since 2016, he was a past Stadia Chair for World Masters Athletics, serving two terms in that position. And those were just two of the many roles he played in our sport.
“Over the past three years, I have come to know, respect, and love Rex as we worked together to advance the masters’ track and field movement in the US. He leaves a huge hole in our community that will be almost impossible to fill,” writes Jerry Bookin-Weiner, Vice-Chair of the Masters Committee.
