Norma Minkowitz set a new World Record in the W85 400m at the USATF New York and Open Masters Championship at Ocean Breeze, on Feb 25th! The record was set by Italy’s Emma Mazzenga in 2019 in Torun in 1:51.89. On Saturday, Norma ran 1.50.99. Within 30 mins Norma ran the 800m, running 4:33.38 for a new American Record! One World and three American Records were set at the USATF East Region/Potomac Valley Association Masters Championships at the Prince George’s Sportsplex on Feb 26th. Ken Moss set records in the M75 Weight Throw (World and American, 19.57m) and Superweight Throw (though he has a better mark from earlier this winter of 10.64m). The previous records had been set by Olympian Ed Burke in 2016. Roger Vergin set an American Record in the M85 60m Hurdles (13.84 seconds) breaking the record set by Bob Paulen last year, and Charles Novak set an American Record in the M55 800m run (2:06.88), breaking the record set by Hall of Famer Horace Grant in 2010.
