WMACi Toruń – March 26 – April 1, 2023
The WMA Indoor Championships will return to Toruń, Poland, site of the 2019 Indoor Championships. The dates are March 26-April 1, 2023. There is detailed information for US athletes about the meet on usatfmasters.org. Included are:
-
- Team USATF accommodations – there are sizable Team USATF Masters room blocks at two hotels, including the Copernicus (the hotel we used in 2019) at approximately $120/night including breakfast and another at the nearby ibis Budget Hotel and roughly half the cost. Full information, including links to make room requests, is here.
- A revised athletic trainer/massage subscription process, and a revised relay selection process.
- Applications for the WMA Travel Grants for the WMA 2023 Indoor Championships are open here, with a deadline of January 31, 2023 (same as the deadline for meet entries).
- Meet registration is open, however, US athletes must first be 2023 USATF members to register. That is not possible until the 2023 membership year begins on November 1; for those whose membership is on auto-renew, their 2023 membership does not begin until January 1st.
Watch for more information during the coming weeks in these Newsletters.
WMA Delegate Search
Effective in 2023, MTF’s delegates to the WMA General Assembly are the MTF Chair, MTF Vice Chair, and a third person appointed by the Chair with the approval of the MTF Executive Committee. This year, Carroll DeWeese’s four-year term as a WMA delegate is ending, and so a WMA Delegate needs to be appointed.
If you are interested in this position or want to nominate someone, please email MTF Chair Jerry Bookin-Weiner at mtfchair@usatf.org. You may use this form to submit an application. There also will be an interview process beginning in early November.
