Masters Long Distance Running Ambassador Call – Register

Join us at Final Ambassador Call Before Kicking Off the Fall 2021 Season

7:00 pm Eastern Time, Thursday, August 12

Hello! Masters LDR is poised to spring into action. With vaccinations widespread and the pandemic receding across the country, large races are now taking place. We are excited to see thousands of runners at a time racing on the streets again.

Learn about the specifics of our plans for the Fall 2021 Championships in Sandy Hook, NJ, and Boston, MA. The Race Directors and our Chair of Technical Operations, Perry Jenkins, will address the Ambassadors. This will include the latest updates on the USATF requirements for presenting safe events as we navigate our way out of the pandemic.

We are inviting you to attend our third quarterly Zoom call of the year at 7:00 pm Eastern Time, Thursday, August 12. The focus will be on detailed descriptions of the upcoming 12K Masters Championships on September 19 and the 5K Masters Championships on October 15. There will be a first preview of the End-of-the-Season celebration in Tallahassee where we will present the awards to the winners of the 2021 Club and Individual Masters National Grand Prix. Please Register in advance for this meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with information about how to join the meeting. Don’t wait as we have limited capacity for the call.

Our 2022 Championships Schedule is now almost completely set. We have either contracts or verbal commitments for 10 events, including 6 road races, 3 XC races, and the WMA Championship in Tampere, Finland. We anticipate being able to announce at the Zoom Call that contracts for all 2022 events are in place. We want this to be our best Grand Prix ever as our Masters Championship racers return to the streets and the turf from coast to coast!

Our Communications Committee will also be announcing the winning entry in our MLDR Catchphrase Contest. In addition, we hope to announce the name of an additional volunteer to assist our Web Editor as we continue to improve our www.usatfmasters.org/mldr website.

If you know of other Masters runners who would be interested in participating on our Zoom call, please share this e-mail and the registration link with them. Feel free to contact me via e-mail in advance if you have something MLDR-related that you would like to discuss on the call. We will continue to communicate with you as our “MLDR Ambassadors” on a regular basis, including quarterly Zoom calls, so we can keep you informed about our upcoming race events.

Remember that USATF Masters is the best venue for runners over 40 to race with the very finest competitive runners in the U.S. We thank you for your support. I look forward to “seeing” you on August 12. Take care and best wishes until then!
