Numerous American and World age group records were set, including Damien Leake’s M70 world mark in the 60m, Kay Glynn’s world record in the W70 pentathlon, Neni Lewis’s W60 world record in the weight throw and American record in the superweight, and many more.
Over 100 clubs fought for the team championships in the men’s, women’s, and combined categories. Those results were:
Combined
- So Cal Track Club (511.5)
- Potomac Valley Track Club (490)
- Atlanta Track Club (325)

The biggest “buzz” of the meet came on Saturday afternoon when Tyreek Hill, wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins ran in the M25-29 60m, winning in a time of 6.70 seconds. Hill’s presence brought out the local media and went viral on the major networks overnight.
To give back to the local communities who give so much to us each spring and summer, in Louisville USATF Masters initiated a new program to partner with local charities. For this meet our partners were A Place to Sleep, which provides beds for children who do not have one, and Home of the Innocents which provides residential care for children who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned. New bedding supplies (pillows, pillowcases, sheets, blankets, and comforters primarily twin-sized and toddler/crib sized) were collected for A Place to Sleep and necessary personal care items for Home of the Innocents at the Executive Committee table near Packet Pickup at the entrance to the facility. The items were donated to the organizations at the end of the meet, along with nearly $800 in cash and checks donated by USATF Masters athletes during the meet. This initiative will continue this summer in Greensboro with local partners there.
For a description of the meet, see the posts on usatfmasters.org under News.
