Entries for the USA National Masters Combined Events Championships close on August 4 at 11:59 pm Pacific Time, with no late or on-site entries. The meet takes place August 12-13, 2023 at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, CA.

USATF and MTF Have a New Sponsor – Prevagen

In late June, USATF announced that Prevagen has signed on as a USATF sponsor. MTF was specifically mentioned in the announcement, which makes sense since Prevagen, as the announcement said, is an “over-the-counter memory supplement designed to improve certain aspects of cognitive function*, has more than a million consumers in the U.S. who aim to be at the top of their game as they age.” In other words, MTF athletes are their target market.

The Prevagen brand will be prominent at USATF Masters Championships, beginning in Greensboro, where it will be on the bibs worn by all athletes. Financially, the sponsorship will help increase the resources available to the MTF Committee to improve its programs going forward. This is a HUGE win for MTF and we owe a debt of gratitude to the USATF National Office for making it happen.

NCCMA Announces 2023 Championships in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico November 9-12, 2023

NCCMA, the North America, Central America, Caribbean Masters Athletics affiliate of World Masters Athletics, will hold its 2023 Championships November 9-12, 2023. This was just announced, and more details will follow soon, including the entry portal. Stay tuned.

WMA Indoor 2025 – Gainesville, Florida in the Running to Host

The Gainesville (FL) Sports Commission, with involvement and support from the USATF MTF Officers, submitted a bid to WMA to host the WMA Indoor Championships in 2025. The dates would be March 23-30, 2025 with most events taking place at the new, state-of-the-art Alachua Sports and Entertainment Center at Celebration Point. WMA has been very encouraging in their response and will send an inspection team in December to visit the facility, which includes a banked 200m mondo track. A final decision from WMA is expected by the end of the year. This would be the first WMA Indoor Championships in the U.S. Exciting prospects!!
