“We are so happy to welcome back the USA Track & Field Masters Outdoor Championships to Ames and Iowa State University this July”, Kevin Bourke, President/CEO, Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau said in a news release. “Having successfully hosted this championship in 2019, we know the economic impact to Ames and central Iowa will be significant. With almost 900 athletes from 48 states participating in the championships in Ames in 2019, we are hoping to exceed those numbers in 2021. After all the cancellations in 2020 due to COVID-19, this championship will be a great ‘shot in the arm’ for the local economy this summer.”
