MASTERS EXHIBITION EVENTS SET FOR INDOOR NATIONALS, OUTDOOR NATIONALS AND DRAKE RELAYS IN 2022
Masters Exhibition events will be held in 2022 at the USATF Indoor Championships in Spokane, Washington, the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, and the USATF Outdoor Championships (site TBD). The events will be the 200m at the Indoor Championships, Shot Put at the Drake Relays, and 800m at the Outdoor Championships.
The 200m exhibition race at the Indoor Championships will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 for men 45-54 and for women 65+. The Podium in Spokane is a brand new venue that will host the 2024 USATF Masters Indoor Championships and (pending approval by WMA) the 2025 WMA Indoor Championships. Athletes in the M45, M50, and W65+ age groups should submit their best times in the past two years by clicking here by January 28, 2022. We expect to invite the top six athletes in the men’s and women’s categories to participate in the exhibition race in Spokane.
At the Drake Relays, the Rex Harvey Memorial Masters Exhibition Shot Put will be a coed event, with the top four men and top four women invited to participate. Those selected will be hosted in Des Moines by the Drake Relays with funds provided by the Rex Harvey Memorial Endowment. The event will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2022. Shot putters from all Masters age groups are invited to submit their best distances in the past two years by clicking here by March 25, 2022. The top four men and top four women will be invited to participate. Athletes are expected to bring their own implements to use in the exhibition.
The 800m exhibition race at the Outdoor Championships will be for athletes in the M60, M65, M70, and M75 age groups for men as well as the W50 and W55 age groups for women. Further details will be available once the location of the meet has been determined.
