USATF Annual Meeting – Elected Delegates Information

The USATF Annual Meeting is coming up shortly (December 5 –  8) in Reno, NV. That is where the Masters Track & Field (MTF) Committee conducts its business, sets policies for MTF, and members of the Committee vote on rules change proposals. To become a voting delegate you must either be designated by your USATF Association as their representative on the MTF Committee or you must be selected as one of the 20 active athlete members of the Committee.

In order to be eligible to become an active athlete delegate at the annual meeting you must first register for the meeting – the last day for late registration is November 14, 2019. Then download fill out and return (or bring to the meeting) the attached form and submit it via email to MTF Committee Secretary Amanda Scotti at ascotti.nmn@gmail.com. Forms are due by 8am Friday morning, December 6th.

Being selected as an active athlete member of the Committee is a multi-stage process. Submit the form either prior to the first session of the MTF Committee (8am Friday morning, December 6) or email before the Annual Meeting the written application to the MTF Committee Secretary (Amanda Scotti at ascotti.nmn@gmail.com).

Include:

  • Your current USATF membership number
  • Your contact information
  • Your status as a registered delegate at the Annual Meeting (see below)
  • The name of a USATF sanctioned competition in which you competed within the past two (2) calendar years.
  • All information will be verified.

You must also be present at the first MTF Committee General Session at the USATF Annual Meeting at 8 am on December 6th and checked in with the secretary. If more than 20 active athletes are present a selection process will take place to identify the 20 active athlete voting members of the Committee and all the active athletes will elect a representative to sit on the MTF Executive Committee.

We strongly encourage all masters athletes attending to complete the form and email it in ahead of the annual meeting instead of waiting until Friday so the process can proceed smoothly in Reno. Early submission deadline for the email applications will be Monday, December. 2nd!

An individual can still complete the form at the first MTF General Meeting; forms will be accepted until 8am.
