MASTERS ATHLETE OF THE YEAR AWARD
Each year, since 1996, about a dozen athletes have been inducted into the USATF Masters Hall of Fame. (Award at left.) The Hall of Fame includes track and field athletes, racewalk athletes, long distance running athletes and also administrators. To qualify for the Hall of Fame, athletes must have competed for at least 10 years. They may be "active" (still competing) or "old timers" (retired for at least five years or deceased). Nominations are considered by the Awards Committee. Inductees are determined by a larger group of athletes and administrators coordinated by the Awards Committee. To view the list of athletes in the Masters HOF, see HALL OF FAME. To recommend an athlete for nomination, contact Mary Trotto.
