TRACK EVENTS

So, just what exactly do they do on the track? Read on!

Racewalking events are covered here.
Combined Events are covered here.
Field events are not conducted on the track (or you'd have some serious holes in that track!).

Different events are offered indoors and outdoors.

NOTE - Hurdle Race specifications are different for different age-groups!

Indoors: 50, 55, 60, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, mile, 2000, 3000, 5000, High Hurdles & Relays

Outdoors: 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1000, 1500, mile, 2000, 3000, 5000, 10000, High Hurdles, Intermediate Hurdles, Steeplechase & Relays

Exceptions:
A meet director can choose what events to offer, and can offer non-traditional events (reread this!). Check the meet info for every meet you enter to see what's offered. Championship meets will offer particular events. See the rules for the events offered.

  • Indoors: Relays may be the 4x200, 4x400, 4x800, 4x1500, Sprint Medley (400,200,200,300) or Distance Medley (400, 800, 1200, 1600)
  • Outdoors: Relays may be the 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, 4x800, 4x1500, Sprint Medley (200,200,400,800), Distance Medley (400, 800, 1200, 1600) or Shuttle Hurdle Relay (4x110 Hurdles)
The order of distances in a Sprint or Distance Medley Relay can vary.
